Glasswares & Plasticwares

BDH stock a wide range of laboratory glassware. The types of glassware used in laboratories for mixing, heating, and holding liquids.

VWR collection glassware’s is produced from high quality borosilicate 3.3 low expansion glass. Its composition is characterized by excellent chemical resistance, high temperature resistance and very good resistance against thermal shock. Produced according to the ideal glass for mostly all laboratory applications. VWR collection borosilicate 3.3 glassware’s is characterized by a high degree of chemical resistance to acids, alkaline solutions and organic substances. It is important that laboratory glassware’s has excellent hydrolytic resistance. VWR borosilicate glassware’s has a relative low alkali metal oxides content and consequently a high resistance to attack from water. VWR borosilicate glass is over 80% silica and therefore remarkably resistant to acids. Alkaline solutions attack all glasses and VWR borosilicate glass can be classified as moderately resistant.

The alkali resistant of VWR borosilicate glass meets class2 requirements as defined by ISO 695 and DIN 52322. Due to its low coefficient of thermal expansion VWR collection borosilicate 3.3 glassware’s can withstand temperature up to 500C and in addition it is extremely resistant rapid temperature changes. The annealing point of our borosilicate 3.3 glass is 560C.
